A draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) has been prepared for the proposed 403-acre mining operation and is posted below. The public comment period opens on July 25, 2022 and closes on September 26, 2022.

State Minimum Fire Safe Regulations
The County has preliminarily adopted an amendment to the County of Santa Clara Ordinance Code, relating to implementation of State Minimum Fire Safe Regulations. The final adoption is scheduled for August 31st, 2021.
Rural Zoning Updates
The County is conducting Zoning Ordinance Amendments across rural base zoning districts (A, AR, HS, RR ).
San Juan Residential District Historic Survey & Development Standards Study
The fifth CSG Meeting was held on Thursday at 6:30 pm, May 20, 2021.
Housing Element Update 2023-2031
The Housing Element is a mandatory element, or chapter, of the General Plan that primarily addresses the housing needs of the unincorporated areas in the County of Santa Clara. A Housing Element must be updated on an eight-year cycle or as otherwise determined by the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).
Coyote Valley Climate Overlay
The County is proposing amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and General Plan regarding a new overlay zone for the unincorporated area known as Coyote Valley, between the Cities of San José and Morgan Hill. The County’s proposed amendments are intended to coincide with changes proposed by the City of San José to amend its own Zoning and General Plan designations in Coyote Valley.
Agricultural Resilience Incentive (ARI) Grant
Department is proposing several amendments to the County’s General Plan and Zoning Ordinance in relation to RV Parks.
