Fairground Events

Events held at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds must conform to preapproved layouts on file with Fairground Management Corporations, FMC. Events that fall outside the preapproved layouts, or that require a fire code permit, must be reviewed, inspected and approved by the Fire Marshal.

Larger Events

Events such as large fairs and festivals, carnivals and similar events require a Fire Marshal Permit. These events may also require permits from the building department, HMCD, DEH, and Animal Control; a pre-application meeting can determine the necessary scope.

PRE-APPLICATION MEETING

During this meeting we will discuss the scope of your event to determine what inspections and permits will be required.

You will need to submit a detailed site plan (See “Submittal Requirements”), along with floor plans for all buildings you will be occupying for your event. Bring these plans to your pre-application meeting.
